Welcome to the Montmorency apartment!

This apartment is located in the historic part of Paris named Le Marais, on a calm little street named rue de Montmorency.

It is located right in front of the very oldest building of Paris, where Nicolas Flamel used to live (early 15th-century)

As the district which was built to house the nobility of the kings of France, the architecture of the hotels particuliers and mansions just around is breathtaking.

Just everything is at your door:

- Museums: the Pompidou center of course (which is the "temple of modern art"), the Louvre less that 10 minutes away, the Picasso Museum, le Musee Carnavalet, l'Hotel de Sully...

- Monuments: Notre Dame, Hotel de Ville, la Sainte Chapelle, Bastille, Opera... The Eiffel Tower (which is not in the very center of Paris) is about 20 mn away by metro. The Champs Elysees avenue is less than 10 minutes away by metro.

- Districts: you are in the heart of Paris, in the historic, lively and safe Marais district. The Islands Ile de la Cite and Ile Saint Louis are just near by. The Latin Quarter is on the other side of la Seine (few minutes away) etc.

- Dozens of restaurants and bars, disco, art galleries, boutiques, department stores...

- Metro station and supermarkets, bakeries, groceries ...

This apartment is perfect for a couple, or for a family of 4 to 5 people.

- 1BR in le marais: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Le_Marais

on rue de Montmorency, which is the street where you will find the very oldest building of Paris, the house of Nicolas Flamel, built in 1407: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rue_de_Montmorency

- metro Rambuteau, Arts et Metiers, Le Marais

- 2nd floor, with elevator, 17th century building

- 485 ft2 large ( = 45 m2)

- 2 to 5 people, 2 in beds
- bedroom: 1 'queen size bed' (2 people)

- living-room: 1 good quality convertible couch (purple), sleeps 2 people

- dining room: table & chairs, the red velvet couch is indeed a twin size bed with a real mattress

- bathroom: toilet, large power shower and wash-basin; the bathroom is NOT ensuite to the bedroom, so it serves anybody sleeping in the living room as well

- fully equipped kitchen*

- cable TV, English channels, DVD player

- Internet (ADSL & WIFI) included, if you bring your laptop or iphone

- Free long distance calls

- air conditioner window unit

- quiet apartment

- fireplace (which cannot be used though)

- hair dryer

- iron and ironing board

- washing machine (no dryer because there is a laundromat downstairs with powerful dryers)

fully equipped kitchen*: with fridge, cooktop, microwave, electric kettle, toaster, coffee maker, utensils and washing machine...

 no smoking

Clean and comfortable. Elevator very small. Fast and accurate response from Marie. Very much recommended.

Marie was very responsive and replied to our inquiries within minutes. The information provided in the description was accurate. The flat is clean and well maintained, with all essentials provided (linens, dishes, etc). The location was also excellent, set in a historic and itself interesting area with easy access to different parts of Paris. The instructions inside the house were also easily found, clear and helpful (e.g., information on private drivers, etc, in Paris). It allowed us to focus on enjoying our trip and less on worrying about apartment procedures and logistics.

Our family of four had a wonderful stay at this apartment. It was clean, had plenty of space for four, and was beautifully furnished. Marie left great instructions for all appliances. The location was excellent too- within a short walk of groceries and metro stations. We would definitely come back if we're lucky enough to return to Paris!

Everything is very good for us. Thank u so much. We recommend this place to everybody.

Oct 2014

We spent a short family vacation at Marie's apartment, just across from Le Marais. It was quite splendid: the apartment was easy to find thanks to the accurate instructions, well located with the Rambuteau Metro station just 2 minutes away, lots of buses to get anywhere. The descriptions are accurate, the small kitchen served us well. It was just spacious enough to hold the five of us.

Lovely apartment in a very central location! Thank you Marie!

Highly recommend this clean, lovely apartment. The street is calm and quiet but it's very near the metro, a supermarket, and interesting restaurants and shops in the Marais. Comfortable for four people. The small elevator (good for 3 people) is a huge help if you need to transport suitcases but otherwise you'll probably want to take the stairs. Marie was very helpful and communicative before and during the trip. She answered questions right away through email. Really appreciated the clear instructions (email and guidebook) and that we were allowed to store luggage after the designated checkout time.

It is very important where you live in Paris. You do not want to spend your valuable time in trains and buses. Walking is A MUST in Paris as every single street and/or building has something you would want to see. This Montmorency apartment is in PERFECT location - walking distance to everything you need to do and see. The apartment itself is very clean and has everything you might need. We were a family of 4 and had enough room for everyone. The bathroom is great, which is not very common for an older building in Europe. :-)
Marie and Mica are great hosts. Anything you might need they will provide. The thing is that there is nothing in the apartment that you don't have an explanation or instructions for. It was just perfect!
Thank you Marie and Mica!

This is a very functional apt for Paris with an elevator. It was clean, comfortable and whimsically decorated. Marie has labels and instructions in English on how to work everything. This is very helpful for Americans who may not be familiar with European apts. The shower and hot water here are the best that I have had in all 5 cities during this trip and my last. There are many little touches that make the apt. more comfortable like shower gel and paper towels. The windows over look the courtyard so it is not a grand view , but pleasant. There are many grocery stores and even a natural foods store in the immediate vicinity. We made our meals here easily. You can walk to Notre Dame and the latin quarter and are close to two metro stations. Marie was very thorough and clear in her communication and helped us out with directions and when our flight was delayed.

The Marie’s apartament where we stayed with my sister , my nephew , my daughter . Marie explained everything very well before arriving in Paris. We felt great after placement . The beds were very comfortable, which is very important after a long walk in Paris. The apartment was very quiet , clean and it had everything necessary for the first few days.
On our street there was a very nice , small bakery .
I want to thank Marie for the proposal, which she did for our luggage, because our late returning filght.
With great pleasure I again stayed in the apartment on our next visit to Paris. I hope this will be soon.

I had really great time in your apartment. Almost famous sights are near the apt. So we walked paris which is the most romantic city. Metro station, supermarkets are also near the apt. the one sofa bed is little inclined. It is suitable for four person. if you live this apt with four friends or family, you make a great choice.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this apartment. Marie and Mica were the most generous hosts and made sure that we had everything we needed. The apartment is adorable and very comfortable. And the cheese and bread shops on the street make the location ideal! I would recommend this apartment to anyone going to Paris looking for a relaxing and authentic experience.

We spent a wonderful time in the Montmorency apartment. Although we love our regular home in the U.S., we are still "homesick" for Paris and our comfortable, convenient Montmorency flat. It was the third time we had rented from Isabelle and Marie, and we have been very happy, satisfied customers each time. Isabelle is trustworthy. She delivers what she promises. We look forward to renting from her again the next time we visit Paris.

I recently had the pleasure of staying in the Montmorency apartment and loved it. Isabelle was great to deal with - no problem booking the apartment over the internet, all communication was answered in a timely manner and very clear. The apartment has all the 'little things' that are sometimes missing in apartments (clothes hangers!, coffee, tea, sugar, salt and pepper, washing liquid, etc). Great area. Absolutely no hesitation in recommending this apartment or dealing with Isabelle!!

My wife and I stayed in the Montmorency apartment with our two children. Everything in the apartment worked and there were directions to use items that might by unfamiliar to foreigners. The internet connection provided was great and was fast enough for video chat over Skype, There were plenty of blankets, sheets, pillows, and towels. The kitchen had pots, pans, dishes and glasses, and was ready for use.

The apartment is on the third floor with a small elevator for luggage. The door to the apartment has a very secure lock and we felt very safe. There are other reviews on this page that talk about the neighborhood and they are all accurate. I suggest using Google maps and street view to explore the neighborhood before you visit.

I reserved the apartment by paying a deposit using Paypal. After arriving at the apartment, Isabelle's mother picked up the balance at the apartment. My security deposit was promptly returned using Paypal after I returned home.

I look forward to returning to Paris and staying in another apartment rented by Isabelle.

Having rented Isabelle’s St. Honore apt last year, my brother and I brought my 80 year old Dad to Paris for his birthday and stayed at Isabelle’s Montmorency apt. It worked out great for us. The apt had everything we needed – short walk to the metro, 3 bakeries within 1 minute walk, a building elevator, comfortable beds, free international phone calls and much more. We were delighted with everything and would feel very comfortable staying at any of Isabelle’s apts in the future. Highly recommended.

I rented this apartment for a reunion with friends in Paris and liked it very much. It was quiet and very convenient and very well equipped and pretty. Isabelle was very professional and very helpful. I run vacation rentals in the US so it was nice to be on the other side for a change and I was very pleased that the apartment was as nice as it seemed on the website. I will definately rent from Isabelle again! Merci Isabelle. C'tait superbe! Great!

We rented the Montmorency apartment in November. It was wonderful and convenient to the Metro. It was a great base for visiting Paris
and the area. There were two boulangeries within a few steps of the apartment and a nearby supermarket. We highly recommend this apartment and Isabelle's apartments in general (this is the second time we've rented from her).

We just returned from a four day stay in the Montmorency apartment. We had 2 adults and three teenage daughters. While it was a little tight for that many, we knew this before going. The apartment was really great and a good value for staying in Paris. The little kitchen does not have an oven, but has a cooktop with supplies, as well as a washing machine for laundry. We were comfortable and the location is terrific! Isabelle was great to work with, accomodated us, returned the deposit immediately. I would use her again if we visited
Paris.

we just returned from a stay at Isabelle's apt rue de montmorency and we were very happy with our apartment, the pictures on the website matched the apt, it was clean and comfortable, and Isabelle's group was very good to work with for check in and questions we had. They were also very prompt in returning our security deposit upon our checkout. I won't hesitate to book through Isabelle's group for our next visit to paris.

We have just returned from the Montmorency apartment. I highly recommend it if you want a beautiful place on a very quiet street, with very nice neighbours. Also we loved the Boulangerie down the street and the oodles of cafes around the neighbourhood. Our favourite thing closeby was the Museum of Modern Art - a hidden treasure! My only critique would be upon arriving late at night to our apartment we did find the street quite dark as well as the entranceway - until you could manually turn the lights on - so takes a little getting used to.
Otherwise the apartment itself is so charming, beautifully decorated and functional. We loved our living room and kitchen. The wifi connection was great not to mention the free long distance phone calls - what a nice feature. We truly loved our stay here - and would do it all over again. Highly recommend this place!!!!

We stayed in Isabelle's Montmorency apartment in April 2010. We booked and paid over the internet and Isabelle was great to deal with. The apartment was easy to find - Isabelle's instructions were great and she came to see us the next morning, and was so helpful. The location was fantastic - 2 blocks from the Pompidiou Cenre, 10 mins walk from Notre Dame. We wanted to be near the Marais, and we were, but just far enough away to be quiet at night. I also loved the Boulangerie just a few doors down! The apartment was clean and cosy - those old buildings are so well insulated, and we actually needed to open the window at night because it was so warm inside, without using the heater. The wifi worked well (Isabelle also provided a cable just in case) which was important for our 17 yo daughter. I loved the Boulangerie just a few doors down! I understand Isabelle has scheduled some renos for the bathroom which will make a great little apartment even better. I would also recommend Sabine's tours. We did the Marais walking tour with her and she was lovely, and it helped us get our bearings. We had a brilliant time in Paris, and would definitely deal with Isabelle again.

in late february 2010 my daughter brought me to paris for my birthday. we stayed at isabelle's montmorency apartment off rue st. martin. the evening we arrived was very cold but once we opened the front door to the apartment we were greeted with warm comfort. not alone was it warm but the decor of the apartment was just what one would hope for in a parisianne home. lots of colour, comfortable chairs - both upright and comfy couches, big mirrors, beautiful french long windows. little curtin arrangements hiding the more mundane necessities like the hoover and the ironing board!! very chic. the shower was amazing. everything you could need in a kitchen. however, since we were only there for a long weekend we didn't get to use the kitchen much. loved hopping downstairs in the morning to the delicious bakery to buy breakfast... and laurent next door (not open on sunday) was great fun. we had lunch there on the last day which he and his partner cook. very reasonable and delicious.
it was so easy to get in and out of the apartment thanks to isabelle's precise instructions. i loved that the apartment had so many different areas, really very well designed.
it was the kind of place that i would be quite happy to stay on my own - very secure, and yet part of the community.
i would recommend this apartment to everyone and hope to return there soon myself. thanks again isabelle. well done! mary and margaret.
